The 5/5 Pledge

5% of profits to getting people out
of homelessness. 5% to feeding kids.

When Ganttastic turns a profit, a tenth of it goes back out the door, split between those two causes. Not a marketing line but a standing commitment, with the numbers published on this page every year, profitable or not.

Why this exists

What makes Ganttastic fantastic should be more than the software.

I am a project manager. I built Ganttastic because I was tired of starting every plan from a blank chart, not because I set out to run a company. But if people are going to pay for this thing, I want the money to mean something past my own runway.

So here it is, in writing: two causes, 5% of net profit each, every year Ganttastic is profitable. 5% to organizations getting people out of homelessness, covering housing, treatment, readiness for work, the long unglamorous road back. Another 5% to feeding children, through school breakfasts and meal programs, the basic fuel a kid needs to have a fair start.

Every subscription brings that first profitable year closer. That is the deal.

The commitment, precisely

Exact terms, so you can hold us to them.

  • 5% of annual net profit to getting people out of homelessness.
  • 5% of annual net profit to food programs for children.
  • Calculated once a year, after the financial year closes, from the first year Ganttastic turns a profit onward.
  • Charity partners have not been chosen yet. They will be named on this page before the first distribution goes out.
  • Published every year, profitable or not, including years the total is $0, so the ledger is always complete. Each entry names the amounts donated and who received them.

Where the money is right now

Nothing has been donated yet.

Ganttastic is new and funds itself, and it is not profitable yet. Today every dollar goes into keeping the product running and getting better. The pledge starts paying out the first year that changes.

Profit, not revenue, because a young company that gives away money it does not have dies, and then it helps nobody. Profit is the honest basis: it means the giving is real, and still there next year.

When the first distribution happens, the number goes on this page, even if the first one is embarrassingly small. And then the next year, and the next.

Straight answers

What is the Ganttastic 5/5 Pledge?
The 5/5 Pledge is Ganttastic's standing commitment: 5% of annual net profit to getting people out of homelessness, and 5% to feeding children. It applies from Ganttastic's first profitable financial year, is calculated once the year closes, and every distribution, both the amount and the recipient, will be reported publicly on this page, each year.
When does the money move?
From Ganttastic's first profitable financial year. Ganttastic is young and funds itself, and not yet profitable. A pledge paid out of revenue would mean giving away money the company does not have yet, which kills the company and helps no one. Profit is the honest basis: once it exists, a tenth of it goes out, every year.
How will you prove it?
This page is the ledger. Each year, profitable or not, we'll publish an entry: the amounts donated and the organizations that received them. In a year with no profit, the entry will say so and the total will be zero. Charity partners will be named here before the first distribution goes out.

Use Ganttastic, and you are part of it.

Good software is the easy part. What makes Ganttastic fantastic is where the profit goes. Plan your projects; the pledge kicks in when the profits do. Want to nominate a cause or ask about the numbers? Email us.
